Featured Ailsa Craig Release:

A Silent No
Ailsa Craig is the new project of Matt Robson (Random Number) which features the lyrical and vocal skills of
The Manhattan Love Suicides' Caroline McChrystal and a vast range of guest players. The Random Number incarnation was an outlet for glistening yet damaged sounding electronica released through labels as diverse as Mogwai's Rock Action, Highpoint Lowlife and the Japanese label, Moamoo.
Ailsa Craig is more "pop" in its approach, yet still dark and moody, atmospheric and brilliant. Aswell as Matt Robson and Caroline McChrystal, Ailsa Craig also features ex-Sierpinski bassist Lee Hooper. The outfit is further augmented by the aforementioned guest musicians, including Darren of The Manhattan Love Suicides on guitar on 2 of the tracks included here.
Drawing on influences as diverse as The Field Mice, Autechre, Hood, Mum and Epic 45, Ailsa Craig combines elements of indie pop, electronica and post rock.
Anyone who purchased The Manhattan Love Suicides
Burnt Out Landscapes compilation CD last year will be familiar with an early mix of the track "Finding The End Of The Line" which is included here in a remixed and much improved version alongside 11 more tracks. Very much an album for those late nights and/or the hazyness of the early mornings.
Released: Monday 12th October 2009
