It's been long awaited, and now it's finally here. Following on from their first two 7" singles on Squirrel Records is the debut album from Leeds' finest indie pop band. It's short, sharp and to the point (8 tracks to the point to be precise) but within it's brief running time, Downdime manage to pack in a lot of first rate pop melodies and unforgetable hooks. From the full on pop assault of "Any Good Reason", the title track "Knowing Too Much", and long time live favourite "Joanne" (appearing here in a newly recorded version) to slightly gentler track "Lessons", the stunning ballad "Time Runs Too Slow" and the epic album closer, "Shine"—it's just under 30 minutes of pure brilliance. Not one single wasted second and not one "filler" track. If you like your pop music with intelligent lyrics and great melodies then you can't go wrong with this little gem of an album.
