Girl One And The Grease Guns started out as a mysterious combo who refused to play by the rules.....which meant no real band member names, no promo photographs, and no live gigs. Here at Squirrel Records we wondered whether this uncompromising approach would instantly relegate the band to the dustbin of obscurity.....but we soon discovered we didn't have to worry about that. Despite no public appearances or utilising the usual means of promoting themselves, Girl One And The Grease Guns 7"s have been very popular.....2 of them selling out of their initial pressing in no time at all. And now, they bring you The Shatterproof Man b/w A Steel Cat In A Glass Jar. The a-side is a fantastically exhuberant slice of electronic pop, which ranks right up there with their previous work such as Jessica 6 and Driving Without Headlights (Once Again). The flipside is an entirely different beast......a 6 minute experimental journey into a creepy, Eraserhead inspired world filled with the sounds of factory machinery, and a feeling of dread.

The first 100 copies only of this 7" release will include a bonus 3 track CD entitled The Way Of The Exploding Hiss, and features these exclusive recordings - The Creep Circus, Jesus On The Grille and Crater Of Needles..........the titles alone should give you a clue as to what to expect from those.
