Featured Girl One And The Grease Guns Release:
Transmissions From The Glass Factory CD
UK ONLY ORDERS
Here it is, the last ever Girl One And The Grease Guns release ! After nearly six years, seven 7" singles, one full length album, one 20 track compilation CD, one white label 12" single, no publicity photos, no gigs, and only one interview - the mysterious collective known as Girl One And The Grease Guns are ending their mission. It's completed. There is nothing left to say or do. They're leaving us with this final 6 tracker, the rest of the "Transmissions From The Glass Factory" recordings. If you purchased the 12" single, "Good Morning, Mr X" b/w "Forever Seems So Long", which was released in August 2018, and you purchase this CD, as well, then you've got the whole set of tracks from these sessions. So, here we have another rock solid collection. Among the gems to be found on here, there's the driving, pulsing, electronically charged "(It's A) Warning Sign (Blue Lights)", and the contemporary beats and rhythms of the eerily moody "Run Scared From Eyeballs", sitting comfortably alongside the girl group inspired pop of "The Multiplex (Is No Good For Me)", and Girl One And The Grease Guns' ultra bright sounding, New Order inspired take on The Blanche Hudson Weekend's ultra lo-fi, scuzzy, filthily fuzzed-up "Noise And Fury". It's an instant electro-pop winner.
Released on the group's own Next Phase : Normal Records, with artwork by Jon Aldersea/Goldphone Creative Media, this is a particularly robust way of saying farewell to Sissy Space Echo, Warren Betamax, Charles Bronson Burner, Bruce LeeFax.....and let us not forget the occasional Grease Gunner, John Cassette-vetes, too.
Who are they ? Who were they ? I'm sure you've all got your own ideas. And, do you know something ? You are probably quite right.
